The neighbourhood: what you should know

Public transport: tram and bus stops on Mogilska and Wieczysta streets provide quick access to the city centre and Kraków Main Railway Station. The Main Market Square is about 4 km away.

New tram line: a new, approx. 4.5 km rapid tram line has been built along Meissnera Street, connecting Mistrzejowice with the Lema / Mogilska / Meissnera / John Paul II Avenue intersection, with 10 pairs of stops. The city plans to launch the first services on the weekend of 19–20 September, subject to final approvals. It is another boost for the development of this part of the city.

Green spaces and recreation: nearby you'll find the Polish Aviators' Park, the Polish Aviation Museum and the Stanisław Lem Garden of Experiences, a 6-hectare interactive science park.

Events: TAURON Arena Kraków, the largest entertainment and sports arena in Poland with a capacity of 22,000, is close by. World-class concerts and sporting events are within walking distance.

Shopping and services: the area offers shops, restaurants and shopping centres, including M1, Castorama, OBI, Alma and Decathlon, as well as Multikino and Cinema City cinemas. Having DIY stores close at hand will come in handy during renovation.

Fun facts

The street is named after Tadeusz Kantor, a painter, theatre director and founder of the legendary Cricot 2 Theatre, famous for the play "The Dead Class." You can explore his work at Cricoteka, the museum dedicated to him in the Podgórze district.

The Polish Aviation Museum is located on the grounds of the former Rakowice-Czyżyny airfield, one of the oldest airfields in Europe. Today, an impressive collection of aircraft is on display in and around the historic hangars.
